Demolition of Cook Brewery (1965)

Standing room only as last of brewery is razed. Caption reads: "The 190-foot smokestack was the last portion of the old Cook's Brewery to fall. Demolition of the landmark on Sycamore between Eighth and Seventh was to occur this morning, but the sturdy yellow brick withstood the assault by a 4000-pound ball. Bigger equipment was scheduled to arrive later in the day to finish the job." They don't build them like they used to. Indiana Bell and houses on 7th St are in the background.
